The VSO Gun Channel is an educational resource of VSO Media LLC, a research and development/ Testing Evaluation firm. VSO is not licensed to sell firearms, is not in the business of selling firearms, and has never made a dime from the sale of a firearm. Nothing VSO publishes should be misconstrued to support the sale of Firearms, components, or accessories. The VSO Gun Channel serves as a common sense, educational resource promoting responsible gun ownership and safety particularly for young minds otherwise negatively influenced by a fundamental breakdown of our society.

RAS-47 by Century Arms has been a controversial rifle*. We are going to conduct the most transparent test of this gun to date and to do that, you guys are going to run the show.
We have a total of 6 RAS-47s spread out across all our people. we let the guns hang out for more than a year to see if we could find anything that resembled the claims of the internet experts. Having found nothing, We are going to do a 5000 round test, stop at each 1000 rd mark and let the VSO subscribers run it.
*Everyone says "cast parts are inferior to forged parts". Thank you for that, you may now move on to rocket science.
We have to ask a very simple question. "Why do we "need" a forged part?" Is the answer because "it is imperative to the design"? No, it's not. The only thing imperative to the design of an stamped AK is the flex rivet that they are held together with. Those are imperative.
If it isn't imperative then the only other answer to the question is "because we have always done it that way"-I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
The true answer to the whole question is- any AK that doesn't have a milled receiver is 100% wrong out of the gate. And, if anyone was actually paying attention to what I say they would know this.
